DPAA Mission
The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency’s (DPAA) mission is to provide the fullest possible accounting for our missing personnel from past conflicts to their families and the nation. Within this mission, they search for missing personnel from World War II (WWII), the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Cold War, the Gulf Wars, and other recent conflicts. DPAA and Study Group – Huertgen project 2018
In 2018, Study Group Missing Soldier (former Stichting Missing In Action (MIA)), the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) and the University of Osnabrück went to the German Huertgenwald to search for the remains of a U.S. missing soldier. Study Group Missing Soldier has this project pending for a long time. During a short film DPAA Dr. Ian Spurgeon provides some World War II Huertgenwald history and information on the 2018 project and the future projects where the Study Group and the DPAA will work on as a team.
