This is Team Study Group Missing Soldier
Study Group Missing Soldier is a Dutch organization with a board and volunteers. Peter and Tino are board members and founders of Stichting Missing In Action (MIA) in 2008. In 2022 the board decided to continue working as a study group. This is Team Study Group Missing Soldier nowadays.
Tino Dam – Board member – Team Study Group Missing Soldier
Gained interest in World War II when he was about 14 years old. A friend collected Second World War items and visited auctions regularly. During those days, Tino lived in Arnhem and was frequently searching with a metal detector. Nowadays he is working for a civil aviation company where he met the other board members. Due to common interests and friendships, Study Group Missing Soldier was born.
Peter Mulder – Board member – Team Study Group Missing Soldier
Interested in World War II since he was about 11 years old. During the search for tobacco pipes he found an U.S. army helmet. Since then, Peters’ search for World War II items, his metal detector and World War II stories became inseparable. He also is working for a civil aviation company. Furthermore, Peter has gained interest in World War II weapons.
Bart van der Sterren – Board member – Team Study Group Missing Soldier
Interested in World War II since he was a kid. He remembers the books standing on his fathers bookshelf. Bart adopted the name of Cliffe H. Wolfe and the grave of Hans Bergmayr at Netherlands Margraten American Cemetery and Memorial. TSGT Wolfe’s name is engraved in the Tablets of the Missing on Margraten Cemetery. While searching for this TSGT Wolfe, Bart met Study Group Missing Soldier.
John Potter – Volunteer
Researcher/Analyst John Potter has a broad range of experience, skills and a passion for World War II history and it’s soldiers.
The Study Group
All Study Group members are interested in everything related to the Second World War between 1930 and 1945. Some are interested and have knowledge about materials (ammunition, weapons and equipment), while others have knowledge about strategy and tactics (defense tactics, attack tactics, e.g.). By using these combined knowledge’s, reading reports like diaries plus listening to stories of eyewitnesses our foundation is able to actually visualize what happened on a particular battlefield.
U.S. Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency volunteers
Since April 2018 Tino Dam, Peter Mulder and Bart van der Sterren are official United States Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) volunteers.
